Sexual Abuse

Elder sexual abuse, is a form of nursing home abuse which involves forcing unwanted sexual acts upon an elder in the facility's care. This also includes any sexual contact for which the elder cannot give consent, such as in cases of diminished mental capacity or unconsciousness.

Some signs to be aware of, which may indicate elder sexual abuse, include the following: unexplained injuries, depression, sexually transmitted diseases, bruising, torn or ripped clothing and  withdrawal. If you have reason to suspect sexual abuse, it is important to consult a nursing home abuse lawyer to see what can be done to stop this from continuing to occur.
